Difficult, Disturbing and Dangerous Behaviour

"Training with a touch of Theatre"

This unique and dramatic course illustrates how staff can respond to some of the most challenging aspects behaviour encountered in their work. The training unfolds through a series of critical incidents that are narrated and dramatised before the group, bringing the material to life, and allowing participants to consider, in detail, the point of crisis, and the skills necessary to achieve a successful resolution.
This is a stark and realistic contrast to the usual “Managing Aggression” courses, providing a fascinating and practical journey through the terrifying world of danger and violence.

Target Group
No prior training in this field is assumed, although it is helpful if participants work in similar backgrounds. The course will be adapted to reflect the experience, work roles and settings of the participants. Groups of up to 30 participants can be accommodated.

Aim
This is a practice-based course aimed at helping participants to develop confidence and personal strategies for dealing appropriately and safely with behaviour that is difficult, disturbed, and dangerous.

Content Typically, the course is usually run over one or two days, as follows

The two-day course includes Everything on the one-day course, plus

”Difficult, Disturbing, & dangerous Behaviour” is ideal for whole teams and organisations, including volunteers and service users, and can be delivered to groups of between 9 and 36 participants.
